We had a beautiful last ride over the Forest to Burley, ably led by Sally-Anne Pierson. The Forest is beyond the imagination of most people who haven’t been there – do plan your own long ride to make the most of it.
You can just make us out on this photo, strung across the crest of the closest hill.
Journey’s end with Sally-Anne Pierson and Suzanne Kempe who kindly guided us across the Forest
The originals, Venetia Craggs and Chuck, Catriona Cook and Scylla, Elizabeth Kirk and Nicky, with flowers and carrots from the BHS, thank you.
And rosettes from the New Forest Society, celebrating the return of two of its Foresters, Scylla and Nicky, ( the Connemara x, Venetia’s Chuck, was politely included!), thank you.
There will be more added to this blog in a few days – a summary of the Journey, the problems and joys, its impact and funds raised, the horses and how they fared. Plus there are many more photographs which some people would like to see. For now, please join us in cheering the riders home where they are all recovering, not with their feet up, but dashing around catching up on everything that happened while they were away and, for Venetia, whose first Journey it was, planning the next one!
